Organizing a Club
The Office of Student Activities produces the Student Guide for Clubs/Organizations, which reflects all regulations concerned with the development of clubs/organizations. This guide will be available for distribution to those interested in forming student clubs/organizations and groups that have previously been established.
The Office of Student Activities is responsible for the recognition, classification, supervision and evaluation of clubs/organizations affiliated with Manhattanville College. Every club/organization that seeks official recognition and funds from the college must comply with the procedures in this guide. Official recognition affords groups the opportunity to utilize space, request for funding and the use of the Manhattanville College name.
Club Criteria and Registration
New clubs/organizations wishing to be considered by the Office of Student Activities must not duplicate the efforts of another club/organization in fulfilling a need on campus.
The following items are required to start a new club/organization or maintain status of a current club/organization:
- All clubs/organizations must have at least six (6) members who are current Manhattanville College students
(All club/organization members must be P/T, F/T, ELI undergraduate students) - Letter of application
- Constitution
- Contact Sheet of all members
- Advisor Agreement
- Club Charter Form
- List of Events
All paperwork must be submitted to the Assistant Director of Student Activities who will then forward it to the SGA Vice President of Student Affairs. The VP will then meet with the steering committee to determine club approval. A formal letter indicating the decision of approval will be sent to the prospective club President signed by the Assistant Director of Student Activities and SGA President.
The following forms are not available online and must be obtained through OSA or from a physical copy of the guidebook given to your corresponding club President:
