are being offered this semester.  New members are welcome to join.
Groups times and days are subject to student schedules and interest.

my family is making me nuts group with jessica welt, psy.d.

Time: TBD

This is an ongoing group for students who feel their family's dysfuntion is one of their biggest problems. This group will be held in a safe, confidential environment where students can gain insight into how their family dynamics influence their lives and emotional well-being and learn new ways to be healthy despite a potentially unhealthy family situation.

Women's Relationship Group with Jessica Welt, Psy. D.



Wednesdays, 12-1:30pm

This group is aimed at helping members gain insight into how to develop more satisfying relationships with others. This group offers
the opportunity for participants to learn about how they experience and interact in a variety of relationships (School, Partners, Family,
Work) in a safe, supportive environment.


What did I do Last night group with renata martins, ph.d.

Time: TBD

This is an on-going group for students who are concerned about their drinking and/or drug use and who are interested in making a change in this area of their lives. The group will focus on identifying and managing triggers for drinking and/or drug use, developing healthy ways to manage emotions and stress, building relationship and communication skills, and any other concerns group members might have.

Coping with Anxiety Group

Facilitator:  Dr. Boatswain
Time: Wednesdays, 3-4:30 (Tentative)

This is a short-term, semester long (8-10 weeks) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy group to deal with anxiety disorders (panic disorder, GAD, social anxiety, test anxiety, OCD, and other anxiety related disorders). The group is structured, relaxation techniques are taught, and a new skill to deal with anxiety is introduced each week, practiced in the group, with a homework task in between sessions.


Resiliency Group

Facilitator: Dr. Boatswain
Time: Mondays, 6pm (Tentative)

Resiliency is the ability to cope with life stressors. This group is an ongoing psychotherapy group for those students who are interested in making improvements in their lives and relationship with others. The group will focus on students’ life stressors that impede their goals, and introduces skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and interpersonal skills to cope with stressors.


Women of Color Group

Facilitators: Dr. Duncan and Dr. Boatswain
Time: Wednesdays, 11-12:30pm, beginning February 24, 2010

This is an ongoing group for Women of Color to discuss issues and experiences of interest to them in an emotionally safe, confidential and therapeutic space. The group supports members in being resilient, psychologically minded Women of Color.


RELATIONSHIP GROUP with Kevin Gillette, Psy.D.

Wednesdays 2-3:30 p.m.

Meet with a group of your peers and a group counselor to work on a variety of concerns including: relationship issues; self-esteem problems; assertiveness issues; problems with depression and/or anxiety.
