Assistant VP for Finance Search

ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE

Manhattanville College, a top-rated institution with an undergraduate program centered in the liberal arts and graduate professional programs, seeks an Assistant Vice President for Finance.  Manhattanville College has a rich history of providing students with a strong academic and social education, first as a Catholic girls’ school, then as a prestigious Catholic women’s college, and now as a coeducational, nondenominational college.  Today, the College prides itself on delivering a top-tier education to talented students from broadly diverse – ethnic and global – backgrounds.  Roughly half of Manhattanville’s students represent the first generation in their families to pursue a college education and the College supports students through a strong commitment to scholarships and aid.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and under the leadership of a new President, the Assistant Vice President for Finance will oversee all accounting, cash management and budgeting, as well as management of the financial departments including student accounts, accounts payable, and payroll for the college, which has a $97 million operating budget.  Beyond the standard responsibilities for the role, the Assistant Vice President will be expected to lead a thorough evaluation of the financial department, including processes, policies, procedures and existing resources, resulting in a strong, flexible and innovative office.  He or she will be tasked with identifying and implementing best practices; strengthening professionalism, customer service and collaboration; and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the College’s financial status at any point in time.  The Assistant Vice President for Finance will be an experienced manager in the financial department of a college or university, ideally with substantial exposure to Datatel Colleague or similar financial system, who provides technical expertise and strategic thinking.  Bachelor’s degree, plus CPA and/or advanced degree required.

Manhattanville College has retained Jack Gorman, of the Boston-based national executive search firm Isaacson, Miller, to conduct the search.  All inquiries, nominations/referrals, and applications should be sent in confidence via electronic mail to Elizabeth Neustaedter, Senior Associate, at MvilleFin@imsearch.com
