Two Manhattanville College Sophomores Win World Affairs Forum Scholarships to Study Abroad

Stamford CT – Anaive Nadal and Declan Galvin, both sophomores at Manhattanville College, have been awarded Norman Woodbury Scholarships to study abroad by the World Affairs Forum of Fairfield and Westchester.

Anaive Nadal is working on a double major in international studies and economics.  She will be spending the fall term in Freiburg, Germany, studying the history and functioning of the European Union.  Anaive is from the Dominican Republic.

Declan Galvin, who designed his own major at Manhattanville in African studies, is spending the summer working in East Africa on development projects for the Maasi and in Rwanda with the Fair Children/Youth Foundation.  He will use the scholarship to spend the fall term at the University of Nairobi learning Swahili and studying African history and government.  He is a native of Warren, Maine.

The World Affairs Forum established this scholarship program in order to encourage deserving university students interested in pursuing an international career to study abroad.  Students who are a resident of or attend college in Fairfield County, CT or Westchester County, NY are eligible.
