Leonard Stokes Art Exhibit
Anecdotes: Collage and Digital Montage
09.28.2007
Manhattanville College is pleased to present an art exhibition by digital artist Leonard Stokes in the school’s Brownson Gallery. The exhibit will run from September 25 – October 24.
Trained as a painter at Yale, Stokes has been creating collages for more than thirty years, working digitally since 1991. His work has been displayed extensively in New York, as well as in other cities around the country.
Stokes, whose collages incorporate pop, classical and Asian elements, says, “I regard myself as a chef who cooks with whatever is at hand – left-overs, essentially…Ultimately, my concerns are with the poetics of color, form, light and space.”
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend the opening reception on Friday, September 28 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. An artist talk will be held that evening at 5:00 pm.
