2-2:45 pm       Panel: Castle Honors class, “Genocide in Literature and Art,” discuss their research

3-4 pm            Laura Bigaouette, President of New View Coaching, Inc.: Heart, Mind, and Soul Transitions: How the Study of Genocide Has Reshaped You

6 pm               Muhammad Motasim, Darfur survivor

7 pm               Alumna Yvette Rugasaguhunga, Rwandan survivor

8-8:45 pm       Dr. Irene Whelan, Manhattanville College: The Dark Side of the Enlightenment: Genocide in Historical Context

9 pm               Original music composed by Dr. Rick Heckendorn and the Castle Scholars class

ONGOING STATIONS THROUGHOUT THE DAY, 12 noon-9:30 pm:

FUND RAISING.  All proceeds from bracelets and other donations will go to Save the Children’s work in Darfur.

PETITIONS AND LETTERS.  Take the opportunity to express to your representatives the need for U.S. humanitarian and political action in Darfur.         

INTERACTIVE ENGAGEMENTS WITH GENOCIDE LITERATURE.  Participate in poetry, readers theater, and art conversations that express and respond to genocide.           

VIDEO AND DVD SHOWINGS.  View film and documentaries on genocide.

Dessert, coffee, and tea will be served throughout the day.  Sponsored by Castle Honor Students.
