THRENODY: A LITERARY CELEBRATION
WEDNESDAY  July 11, 2007 | 6:15 PM

INTERPRETATIONS
This inspiring literary tribute to Cleve Gray's site-specific work focuses on the themes of war and peace. After a guided tour, authors who have interpreted Threnody through commissioned poems, created since the opening of the exhibition, will read their poetry.

Additionally, Francine du Plessix Gray, noted author and widow of Cleve Gray, will read from her memoir; and author Paul Rieckhoff will read from his critically-acclaimed memoir, Chasing Ghosts.

The program is presented in collaboration with the Writing Program at Manhattanville College and the Hudson Valley Writers' Center. Poetry readings are by students of award-winning poet Suji Kwock-Kim and Suzanne Cleary.

Ms. Kwock-Kim's Notes from a Divided Country won the Walt Whitman Award from the Academy of American Poets, The Nation/Discovery Award, and was a finalist for the PEN USA Award. Poet Suzanne Cleary will read from her second poetry collection Trick Pear.

Tour begins at 6:15 pm; readings begin at 7 pm.
