Tech Support

During normally scheduled class hours, Media Services provides on-site technical support for both installed and circulating media equipment used in a classroom.

The staff at Media Services will train you to operate media equipment installed in Smart Classrooms or delivered to your classroom. To ensure both you and the MS staff have reserved sufficient time for both you and Media Services staff, we urge you to call x3154 and schedule an appointment.  Our office and facilities are available for pre-screening by appointment.

Media services staff can also offer consultations for multimedia production, technical advice on an instructional project, and selection or use of appropriate equipment for any instructional task.

If you have a technical problem, call Media Services at x3154 or stop by Brownson 28 during our office hours. A staff member will respond to your equipment problem as soon as possible.

Installed Equipment in Smart Classrooms

Brownson 8 Media Equipment photoSmart Classrooms (Brownson 8, 14, 106, 108, 109, 111,115, 217 and Music 7) include a video/data projector, DVD, VCR, and a Network Access Computer with available software provided on campus. If your class is scheduled in this room, you must learn how to operate the equipment prior to your first planned use. Call Media Services for the schedule of group training sessions or to arrange for an individual training appointment.

Circulating Equipment

Media Services wil train you, your colleagues, or your students to operate any of the circulating media equipment. Most equipment operation training can be done without an appointment in Brownson 28.

By making an appointment, however, you can be sure a staff member will be available for the appropriate length of time needed to ensure your comfort in operating the equipment. Please call x3154 to arrange for equipment training.

Equipment Repair

Media Services is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the circulating equipment inventory and monitors the condition of all equipment installed in Smart Classrooms. The staff checks circulating equipment before it is delivered, but nonetheless, we cannot guarantee it will operate flawlessly for the duration of the class. If you have a problem with any of the equipment, please call or drop by Brownson 28 as soon as possible to report the trouble.
