Archivist/Special Collections Librarian

 

Manhattanville College is an independent, co-educational, residential liberal arts college of approximately 1600 students located 28 miles north of New York City in suburban Westchester County.  We are currently seeking a part-time archivist/special collections librarian.

Job Description: The Manhattanville College Library seeks applicants for the position of part time Archivist/Special Collections Librarian. The successful candidate, who will report to the Assistant Director for Collections, will maintain and manage the Library’s Special Collections, comprised of the college archives, photographs, and rare books. 
Responsibilities include archival processing, writing finding aids, research and reference, grant writing, creating exhibitions and outreach.

Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS; experience with archival processing; experience with web-site development and/or digitization projects; strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact successfully with a diverse staff and clientele.  For more information, see http://www1.mville.edu/library/specialcollections/index.htm

This is a part time position of approximately 10 hours per week. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
