Walter E. Valero is the Electronic Services Librarian of the Library. Part of his responsibilities include maintaining the library Web site and EZProxy remote server, providing technical support and assistance to library staff, and assist in the development and creation of electronic content particularly for LIS courses offered online. Before coming to Manhattanville he was Student Services Coordinator for the Student Support Services Program at York College City University of New York (CUNY). In this capacity he coordinated counseling, mentoring and tutoring services and activities for freshman and sophomore students. He received his A.A.S. degree at LaGuardia Community College CUNY, his B.S. from York College CUNY and his M.L.S. from Queens College CUNY. He recently co-authored an article appearing in Library Journal entitled,“History on a Postcard.” The article describes a complex, full-scale digitization project using Greenstone open source digital library software. He is currently working on his second masters degree in Integrated Marketing Communications here at Manhattanville.
