2000’s

Jean-Marc Berne ’00 landed a National Radio spot as the voice of a Dominican baseball pitcher for Western Union!  His voice is being heard in all Hispanic markets in the US. He recorded a National Radio spot for the National Fair Housing Alliance, playing the role of “Latino Man” and also recorded several spots for HOLA (Hispanic Organization for Latin Actors).

Tina Criscuolo Douglas ’00 has opened her own studio in Connecticut, where she features painting, pottery, children’s classes and art therapy. 

Sarah Gauthier Galluzzo MA ’00 is a MAW graduate and a successful freelance advertising copywriter. Sarah is happily married and a mother of two young children. She has just created, marketed and bottled her own brand of salsa and simmer sauce using only local (Connecticut grown), certified organic produce. It is named GourMom organic salsa and simmer sauce. 

Johanna Mustacchi ’00 continues as the Media and Communications Teacher at Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, teaching the Media Literacy curriculum she designed for 6th, 7th and 8th graders.  In addition, Johanna had an article published in the March 2008 issue of Educational Leadership magazine entitled "What's Relevant for YouTubers," which described her new curriculum and its relevance for middle school youth.

Bethany Smith ’00 is a Ph.D. student in musicology at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where she is also pursuing a graduate certificate in women's studies. She also holds a MM in music history from the University of Cincinnati. Her recent written contributions include reviews in Music Research Forum and The World of Music, and entries in the forthcoming Encyclopedia of African-American Music.

Arlene Garcia ’01 currently teaches global studies, American history, criminal, and civil law courses at White Plains High School. She is a fourth year doctoral student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. Her research interests include: legal and social issues relating to crime and delinquency, corrections and issues relating to prisoner reentry, theory and deviance, and drug policy. Arlene lives in Danbury, CT with her family and enjoys reading, music, traveling, and playing basketball.

Liam McKiernan ’01 has been a Production Manager at the VH1 network. He works in the Series Department, specifically managing the production of the weekly series Best Week Ever. Liam got engaged in December of 2007 and got married on October 18, 2008. He participated in the Director's Guild of America Trainee Program before pursuing a career in television. Liam and his brother have completed their second feature length screenplay and have been shopping them around through their agent.

Rebekah Strauser ’01 has started her own business. Wisdom of Glinda is an online program and a corporate consultancy business. The online program helps women to figure out how to fix failed patterns of fashion choices and develop a sense of style that is most representative of their true self. It's easy, gentle, empowering change that will bring your inward self outwards.

Christine Woodward Warrington ’01 has been teaching at Nyack College Manhattan for five years. She recently started the D. Litt. Program at Drew University, Madison, NJ.  Her daughter, Elisabeth Didato, received her MA from Manhattanville last May in early childhood Ed.  Her son, Gene-Christian Baca received his MBA from Nyack College, and her youngest daughter, Katharine Woodward, just graduated with a BA from SUNY Oneonta. Life is good!

Quinn Doyle ’02 is a glassblower and is teaching a “Make Your Own Glass” workshop at the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY. Quinn also does some freelance web design and is currently putting up a new website for his work.

Pia T. Fiorelli ’02 teaches full time in the Pelham Public Schools in Westchester. This will be her sixth year in the district. She teaches Spanish to Middle School and High School students. Pia recently returned from a study abroad in southern Spain. This past spring she completed her Master's Degree in Library Science-School Media at Queens College. Pia currently lives in Queens, NYC.

Linda Francica ’02 graduated as a Dance & Theatre major, and opened her Magical Movements School of Dance, in Harrison, NY. She not only directs the studio, which offers an array of classes for children and adults, but also teaches actively and runs a summer camp.  In addition, she entertains at birthday parties and teaches at schools and artistic programs across Westchester County.  Linda is proud to be celebrating Magical Movements' 5 year anniversary on September 22.

Melissa Ginsburg ’02 is now a certified AP English instructor going into her second year of teaching crazy 11th graders at Westhill High School in Stamford, CT. Melissa loves every second of it. Melissa says that she “probably wouldn't be in this job if it hadn't been for people like Professors Marion Perret and Anthony Piccolo helping me to figure out that my life path was paved with books!”

Maya Eugene Kazanjian’02 got married to her husband Merrill Kazanjian (class of 2001) and the happy couple is expecting their first child in late September. Presently, Maya is an RN, OCN at Winthrop University Hospital and her husband is an art teacher and advisor at St. Hope Leadership Academy.

After graduating, Adam Rodriguez ’02 received his master's in Information Systems Engineering from Polytechnic University in 2004, and then his Juris Doctorate from Fordham Law School in 2007. Adam then went on to work at Morgan & Finnegan LLP, one of America's most prestigious Intellectual Property law firms. In September 2008, Adam was appointed Law Clerk to the Honorable Ramon E. Reyes, United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of New York.

Kim Murray Santos MPS ’02 is currently living in Ossining and teaching at Greenburgh Eleven in Dobbs Ferry, grades 8-11. She is the mother to two boys, ages 2 and 3, and just celebrated her 5th year wedding anniversary in July. She is forever grateful to her professors at Manhattanville and for all that she learned during her Masters Program!

Alan van der Hilst ’02 graduated at University of Washington (Seattle) receiving his PhD in Economics, and recently accepted a job as an Associate Analyst in the Microeconomic Studies Division at the Congressional Budget Office. He now lives in Washington, DC.

Nicole Ciccone ’03 recently married Michael Trainor, of Saugus, MA on September 20, 2008. The two met in Boston and currently reside there. The wedding was in New Rochelle, NY.

Danielle Williams Glascott ’03 got married in December of 2004 to Edgar T. Glascott. They welcomed a son, Kevin Patrick Glascott, in October of 2006. Currently Danielle is a stay at home mom in the process of renovating their old house in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Annie Iñigo-Metcalfe ’03 got married to David Metcalfe (class of 2002) in September of 2005 and they’re currently awaiting the arrival of their first child in January of 2009. Annie has worked as the HR Coordinator/Office Manager for Acclaro, a translation & localization company in Irvington, NY for the past 3 years. She received her Masters Degree in Human Resources from Mercy College in 2007.

Katie Mathy ’03 has lived in Washington, DC for the past five years. Katie recently purchased her first home located in Columbia Heights, DC. She is newly employed as the Art and Photography Coordinator at The Atlantic Monthly magazine. Katie will be starting classes this fall at the Corcoran School of Art in graphic design.

Kathy Bothell Rattner ’03 has been very busy as a first edition has been added to the Rattner household. Abigail Cassandra Rattner was born June 29th, 2007. Mom is taking some time off from teaching in Ridgefield, CT to witness Abby's first steps and other great milestones.

Alex Schmitz ’03 finally pursued her dream and accepted a position at the Seattle Art Museum in the Admissions Department.  She moved to the West Coast in September of 2007 after having lived in Boston, where she worked for a downtown non-profit agency. 

Laurie Fleischer ’04 lives in Las Vegas Nevada and is teaching Special Education English and doing CC in English III and IV.  She just bought a condo and this is her second year out West! She really likes it out there. 

Lilliana M. Passalacqua ’04 finished her masters in communications design from Pratt Institute in 2006 and currently works as a graphic designer in the marketing and communications department of the 92nd Street Y in the upper east side. She is engaged to Edwin Polanco who also graduated from Manhattanville in 2004. Edwin will be attending Indiana University-Bloomington this fall to receive his MBA in finance on a full tuition scholarship. The couple will marry in January of 2010. 

Kyla Berdan ’05 was recently accepted into the master’s program in art history at Hunter College, where she will begin study this fall.  

Ines Sanchez de Boado ’05 is currently attending the University of Essex for a Master's in Theory and Practice of Human Rights. Since graduating from Manhattanville in 2005, she has had a deep fondness for human rights, and along with that she has done various internships at the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) and UNIDO (UN Industrial Development Organization) in Vienna, Austria. She is engaged and will be getting married on January 9th, 2010 in Louisiana.

Robert Wodarski ’05 is currently working as a medical malpractice defense paralegal at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, LLP in NYC. Robert is hoping to go back to school in the near future.

Elizabeth Brown ’06 accepted a position last summer as Administrative Curatorial Assistant at the Guggenheim Museum. She began graduate work part-time last year in the master’s program in art history at Hunter College.  

Seana Cavanagh ’06 majored in Communications and Fine Arts. She was one of the students that formed the YNOT news. She recently produced a short film with director, Shalini Kantayya and reached the top 15 out of 600 films and received funding to shoot another short film, "RED" which was partially filmed at Manhattanville. 

Cailean Cooney ’06 moved to Astoria, Queens and began graduate study last fall at Pratt Institute in the dual Library Sciences/Art History program.  Her internship last summer was in the Frick Art Reference Library’s photoarchive department. She also had a part-time job at the Metropolitan Museum in Group Registration at Visitors Services in the Great Hall. 

Jack Richard-Vincent Saraceno ’06 has been living in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for a little over one year.  While in Tuscaloosa, he is attending the University of Alabama, in order to obtain his PhD. in Mathematics. At the University, he has an assistantship, where his duties include teaching and tutoring. He has just finished teaching his first college course, Pre-calculus Algebra, and is about to start his second course, Intermediate Algebra. 

Kelly Scallion ’06 recently purchased her second Pilates studio to bring the tally to two Pilates studios in CT one in Meriden and one in Old Saybrook. Kelly is also looking to start a third in Glastonbury CT. 

Steven Schimmel ’06 has been working as a historian and event planner for Jewish Federation in Cumberland County, NJ. He is also coordinating marketing events for the FedEx Cup golf tournament. 

Lauren De Silva ’06 has been teaching Spanish for three years on the middle school/high school level.  This year will be her first year at the Bay Shore UFSD.  In addition, Lauren will be graduating from St. John's University in December with an MS in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).  Next Fall, she will begin her Administrative degree which collapses into a doctoral program. 

Erica Silver BA ’06 MA ’08 was an undergraduate in education and psychology in 2006 and got her graduates degree in May 2008 in literacy and special education. Also, Erica recently got engaged to Brian Rice after 4 years of dating. Their wedding is being planned for July 11, 2009. She is currently working as a first grade teacher in Port Chester at the Edison School. 

Lauren Tomas ’06 got engaged in October to Brian Lamendola. Brian is a ’06 graduate of Quinnipiac University and the couple is getting married in March of 2009. Lauren is a Senior Risk Consultant at NRS/CompAudit Services doing Worker's Compensation Insurance analysis for other companies in New Jersey. She also coaches a women's softball team.

Kimberly Calano ’07 graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in May of 2007, and completed her Masters Degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education. She worked as a First Grade Leave Replacement Teacher in Armonk, New York. She spent the summer working as a Lead Instructor for a Science Camp, and is now actively seeking full-time employment for the 2008-2009 school year. 

Lauren Gemelli ’07, a Dance/Theatre and Criminal Justice Departments Major, lives in New York City with two Manhattanville Alumnae, and is a working performer. Earlier this year she was part of the current National Tour of "42nd Street" and this fall she will be traveling to Prague, Latvia, and Estonia with the European Tour of "The Phantom of the Opera."

Vanessa Gibens ’07 is now working as an Admissions Consultant for the National Theater Institute based in Waterford, CT. Vanessa recruits college students for the program's 14-week conservatory intensive offered in CT and Moscow. She is also active in New York City's Theater scene and is a member of Wide Eyed Production's acting company. This summer she took part in Manhattan's Ultimate Latina Theater Festival in the play, "Jose Can Speak." She is currently rehearsing in the Queens Garden Stage production of "A Midsummer Nights Dream," which opens in September. 

Inna S. Kupriyanova ’07 is an Office Manager at Kinetic Partners US LLP which is a global professional services firm focused exclusively on the investment management industry.  

Pamela Stephanie Gonzalez Liriano ’07 is currently living in the Dominican Republic. Pamela works in the Consorcio Azucarero de Empresas Industriales (CAEI), which is the mother company of three sugar mills in the Dominican Republic and part of more than 80 companies belonging to the Vicini Group. Pamela plans to attend Barna Business School and complete an MBA followed by an MSF, in the near future. 

Gregory Minezzi ’07 has been travelling a lot since graduation. He began in Fiji, discovering the culture and history of a pacific island society. Gregory then moved to Australia. Then he went to South East Asia. Greg says “Singapore is indeed a utopia.” Growing up in Boston and attending university in New York, he says he has “never seen such amazing scenery.” Currently, he is in New Zealand.

Brigitte Mulholland ’07 will begin graduate work this fall at CUNY Graduate Center in New York.

Shelley Paight ’07 has started graduate school at the University of Bridgeport for Elementary Education. She will be receiving her master's degree in December of this year. She will be getting married in May of 2009. 

Anne-Marie Parnell ’07 took a year off after graduation and traveled through Japan, Hong Kong, Sweden, and Norway, as well as the U.S.  She is attending Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, RI where she has received the merit-based Professor Robert B. Kent Academic Award.

Kate M. Pickoff ’07 just relocated to Washington DC from Pittsburgh, PA (where she was working as a research assistant at the Children's Hospital) to attend the medical school at George Washington University. She also just got engaged and will marry Andrew Serdy on June 27th of 2009. 

Kathryn “Katie” Pojer ’07 is currently attending CUNY Hunter located in Manhattan pursuing her Masters/PhD. in History. Kathryn is enjoying being back in school, living at home and continuing her education. Kathryn loves to spend time with her boyfriend Justin Harrison, Manhattanville Class of 2007, her parents, and especially her dog Buttercup.

Traci Sandler ’07 is starting her second year of teaching elementary general music at Katonah-Lewisboro. She is working towards her Masters degree at Manhattanville College. This summer she continued her education in learning the music education philosophy of Zoltan Kodaly at NYU. She plans on continuing this study for the next two summers.  Right before classes begin in August she will be traveling in Israel for fourteen days, learning the culture and history of this wonderful country.

Anna C. Schimelpfenig ’07 after graduation moved out to Boise, Idaho and is currently working as a legal assistant for two attorneys at the Ada County Prosecutor's Office. She got married on September 6th in Boise. Besides work and wedding planning she has just been enjoying the outdoor activities that Idaho has to offer and she has continued coaching and playing hockey.

Kelly Schroer ’07 was living in Islington in the north of London with three girls who are studying anthropology.  She reported that there were about 60 students in the program at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. She said the program is no “walk in the park,” and she was glad she had paid attention in her art history classes at Manhattanville! 

Andrew D. Deacon ’08,  Manhattanville's Student Government Association's Vice President of Academics and Castle Scholars Honors Program Student Representative 2007-08, was appointed a French and Spanish teacher at the Forman School, a private high school for students with learning differences, in his hometown of Litchfield, Connecticut.

Jetmira Dega ’08 has been studying for the MCATS and applying to jobs. She has worked as an Orthodontist Assistant for about two months and now is now working as an embryologist technician at Reproductive Fertility Center of New York. In the meantime, she is planning a trip abroad for medical internship/volunteer experience in Asia and Europe.

Danielle DuBois ’08 was offered a full-time position as the Communications Coordinator in the Public Relations Department at Glacéau (part of the Marketing Department). She accepted, and has been a full-timer for about three months. Danielle currently resides in Queens. Recently Glacéau was recently acquired by The Coca-Cola Company so her workplace is booming!

Gayonne A. Hartley ’08 was recently hired at Fox Lane Middle School for another year to teach 7th grade Life Science and is very excited!

Lois Kessel ’08 is currently working at The Rachael Ray Show, in NYC, as an Audience Page, in the Audience Department. Lois loves her job, because she is on her feet all day. Everyday is different and new because everyday they have a different celebrity and there are always audience give-aways, which she is in charge of distributing to audience members after the show.

Erin Levin ’08 is living in Wellington, New Zealand and is currently working as the sole broadcast editor for Media Monitors Ltd. The company is Asia Pacific's leading media intelligence agency.

Amanda Nonis ’08 was a former women’s hockey, softball, and volleyball valiant. However, hockey was the reason she came to Manhattanville. Currently she is over seas in Germany, playing for the Esc Planegg hockey team. They were the German champions of last season and now are entering into the European league so Amanda will be playing teams such as Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, and Austria.

Andrew Rotondaro ’08 has been working for Automatic Data Processing in Stamford.  

Sarah Saint ’08 began her assistantship with the Institute of Behavioral Research at UGA. She got engaged, and the wedding is planned for 9/4/2010 in Easton, CT. She began classes at the University of Georgia and she will graduate in May of 2010 with her Masters in Social Work.
