Can freshmen have cars on campus?

Sure they can have cars on campus, but they aren't really necessary since there are convenient mass transportation options as well as our Manhattanville shuttle bus.

How big is your school?

We have 1600 full-time undergraduate students from 38 states and 58 countries. About 85% of our students live on campus.

Where are you located?

We are about 1/2 hour north of New York City, in Westchester County.

What Division are you in sports?

We are a Division III school with 18 sports available for men and women. The most prominent of these are ice hockey, soccer, and basketball.

What is your average SAT, ACT, and GPA?

Last year's averages were: SAT = 1100 (Critical Reading 550, Math 550), ACT = 24, and unweighted GPA = B.

Do you accept the ACT?

Yes.  We accept both the SAT and ACT and will take the higher score if both are taken.  Our average SAT last year was 1100 (Critical Reading 550, Math 550), which is the equivalent to a 24 on the ACT.

What is your average class size?

Our student teacher ratio is 12:1, and our average class size is 17.  Over 80% of our classes have under 20 students.

What types of scholarships does Manhattanville offer?

Manhattanville offers academic scholarships from $5,500-15,000/yr as well as dance/theater, music and art awards(based on audition and portfolio review).  There are also community service and leadership awards available.

How many students do you accept each year?

55% of applicants are accepted.

Are AP credits accepted at your school?

Yes, but we require a score of a 4 or a 5.

Are internships available?

Yes.  Many of our students participate in internships.  Our Career Service Department is very active, and helps every student who is interested in interning find a position to their liking.  Manhattanville is also located in a hot bed of corporate America.  PepsiCo, Texaco, and MasterCard all have corporate headquarters in Purchase.

What is the ratio of men to women?

The ratio is 1:3; 35% men and 65%women.

Does Manhattanville offer early decision?

Yes.  The deadline is December 1st, and it is binding.  This means that once accepted a student must withdraw all other applications.
