Freshman Scholarships
Merit Awards:
Manhattanville has a long history of rewarding students of high academic achievement regardless of their financial need. We also are committed to making it possible for students of limited financial resources to attend the college. Each applicant is automatically evaluated for merit awards and no additional application is needed for consideration.
Rights and Responsibilities of Merit Award Recipients:
Annual renewal of all scholarships is based on:
- Maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.0;
- Attending each semester on a full time basis (14-16 credits);
- Attending one cultural event per semester and submitting an essay regarding the event to the Office of the President.

Elizabeth J. McCormack Scholarship
Elizabeth J. McCormack Scholarship was established to honor Elizabeth J. McCormack, who graduated from Manhattanville in 1944, served as the college academic dean from 1962 to 1966 and as president from 1966 to 1974. She is widely known beyond Manhattanville’s campus as a Renaissance woman and visionary leader with interests that bridge the worlds of education, philanthropy, medicine, the arts and foreign affairs.
McCormack Scholarship recipients will receive:
- 100% of financial need met in the form of the McCormack Scholarship.
- An Opportunity Grant of up to $4,000 per summer between academic years to plan creative and life enhancing experiences that will expand scholars’ horizons and help them achieve their goals.
- A one-time computer allowance of up to $1,500.
- Mentoring with program’s advisors.
Today’s Students, Tomorrows Teachers (TSTT)
Today’s Student’s, Tomorrow's Teachers' is a development and mentorship program founded to foster current students to become future teachers and leaders within their community. Students involved in Today's Students, Tomorrow's Teachers' will receive a half tuition scholarship here at Manhattanville. Please contact your high school to see if they offer TSTT.
Invest in Success
The Invest in Success scholarship program was established to promote higher education among students of Hispanic and African descent. The scholarship covers full tuition, room and board for four years provided that the student maintains a minimum 3.0 grade point average, completes 30 hours each semester in Duchesne Center programs, and remains in good social standing at the college.
Who can apply:
- High school seniors of Hispanic origin or African-American/Caribbean descent. As well, students must graduate with a grade point average of 3.0 or better, plan to begin a full-time undergraduate program here at Manhattanville and be a US citizen, permanent resident, or a foreign student with valid immigration status.
The Scott Pierce Scholarship
The Scott Pierce Scholarship was established in honor of Scott Pierce, member of the Manhattanville College Board of Trustees. The Scholarship adheres to the College’s global mission and tradition of academic excellence while recognizing a recipient’s commitment to community and leadership— values at the core of the Manhattanville College experience. Scholars are encouraged to create new experiences such as international travel, professional internships, independent research, and community service.
Recipients of the scholarship will be provided with:
- At least 85% of the cost of tuition, fees, room and board or the sum total of their financial need as determined by the FAFSA-- whichever is higher.
- Mentorship provided by Scott Pierce and the President of Manhattanville College
School of Education Professional Development Schools Scholarship
This scholarship awards a half tuition scholarship to high achieving students who will graduate from a school district that is affiliated with our Graduate School of Education. Students must have a 3.5 grade point average or above, and attend high school in the school districts of Port Chester, New Rochelle, Greenburg District 7, or White Plains.

Sacred Heart Scholarship
The Sacred Heart Scholarship is a half tuition scholarship for freshmen candidates graduating from a school founded by the Sacred Heart Order.

Fine Arts Awards
Dance/Theatre, Music and Art awards are given based on a review of the student’s audition or portfolio. The amount awarded depends upon each individual audition or portfolio.
Community Service Awards
We offer those students with leadership, community service and/or social justice experience the opportunity to apply for the Duchesne Center Scholarship. By offering scholarships of $3,000, we hope to reward those students who will most likely continue on the service path, while also advancing our values and missions. Alumni Award
Sons and daughters of alumni or alumnae are eligible for a $2,000 a year scholarship. To qualify, please indicate on your application your parent’s full name and graduation year.
