Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Manhattanville College School of Education celebrated the Professional Development School (PDS) Partnership with Jefferson Elementary School with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on October 27, 2008.
Principal Cynthia Slotkin welcomed guests and spoke about the power of partnerships and the possibilities of the future. Dean Shelley Wepner described the purpose of professional development schools and the vision for the partnership. Speeches were also given by Kristin Rainville, Assistant Professor and liaison for the PDS, Richard Organisciak, Superintendent of City School District of New Rochelle, Edgar Schick, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the co-president of the Jefferson School Parent Teacher Association, Donna O’Keefe.
The Fifth grade Special Chorus, led by Mr. Gary Schwartz, a Manhattanville alumnus, performed. Faculty of Jefferson, Faculty and students from Manhattanville School of Education, and parents and families celebrated this exciting new partnership at a reception.
