Accelerated Masters Program for Adults
Jump Start 2009-2010
This intensive program provides you with the opportunity to complete half of your graduate coursework in just over five months. This will enable us to apply on your behalf for an Intern Certificate (subject to New York State Education Department rules and regulations). We will provide you with the opportunity to interview in school districts located primarily in New York City (Bronx and Manhattan School Districts). The school district personnel make all hiring decisions.
If a teaching position is secured, Jump Start teachers will be assigned a Manhattanville mentor who will assist them with developing unit and lesson plans and classroom management protocols, as well as help them understand their school policies and procedures. In addition, Jump Start teachers attend a weekly field seminar and a Manhattanville field supervisor will schedule regular visits to observe, enhance, and/or monitor on-site progress.
