Non-Profit Leadership
Manhattanville is one of few colleges in the area that offers a practical six-course (18-credit) Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership.The 18-credit program is designed for executives and professionals already in the nonprofit sector who want to improve their leadership skills, or for other working professionals who desire a career shift. Some students are active community volunteers who want to grow into leadership roles and increase the effectiveness of their governance teams and volunteer resources.
The program may be completed in nine months, and a Certificate of Completion is awarded at the end of the program. Completed credits may be applied towards the M.S. in Leadership and Strategic Management offered at Manhattanville.
The curriculum focuses on the most vital skills necessary for success in the nonprofit arena. The six courses are:
Overview of Organizational Leadership
Management in Nonprofit Organizations
Fundraising and Development for Nonprofit Organizations
Communications & Effective Leadership
Executive Leadership in Nonprofit Organizations
Managerial Finance
Faculty in the program are executives and consultants who are currently working in the private and nonprofit sectors.
