Communication is an activity that constantly engages all of us. We communicate through speech, writing and nonverbal means and, in this day and age, we communicate through mass media more than ever. Cinema, television, radio, print media and the internet provide much of the information in our daily lives. Fields like advertising, public relations, entertainment, journalism, media production and research shape our cultural landscape in ways that no one can afford to ignore. Manhattanville's communication program takes an interdisciplinary approach to the history, theory, politics and uses of human and media communication.
