Core Values
Manhattanville College's Values
Manhattanville College was founded in 1841 as a Catholic college for women. While we have been co-educational and non-denominational since 1971, we remain committed to our rich tradition as a values-centered liberal arts college.
Our Mission: To prepare students, through rigorous academic and co-curricular programs, for ethical and socially-responsible leadership in a global community.
We are committed to:
- Ensuring the intellectual, ethical, and social development of each student within a community of engaged scholars and teachers;
- Encouraging each student to develop as an independent and creative thinker in pursuing career and personal goals; and
- Providing a diverse, inclusive, and nurturing environment which develops in each student a commitment to service and leadership within a global community.
